Damn, I really thought the Swedish government had some sort of brains. This case proves that they are powerless when a private lobby organization can claim a legal activity as illegal and order the Swedish police to assign a 50 man raid upon the target organization (TPB).

I must say that this could point out a statement that Sweden is actually ruled by mafia (aka private lobby organizations). Funny thought but I hope that the police realizez that they just shot themselves in the foot, no rather they just shot themselves in the head/groin when they seized not only TPB’s servers but also other unrelevant organizations and private servers.

A sky-high lawsuit is absolutely appropriate.

Thankfully this country is a democracy, a questionable one, but still a democracy. No one is forcing you to stay in this country, besides, you mentioned your native inheriting. To the matter, the problem that the Swedish police, together with the government, have done is to raise them above the law. Also, the law they are trying to embrace, is not yet an actual law. In a year or two it _may_ be a part of the Swedish law, but not just yet – witch makes this hole matter a pithy mess.

The JO of Sweden is on a mission to investigate the actions performed by the Swedish police and one of the ministers, Thomas Bodströms actions. The razzia was, as you all probably know, based on thoughts and ”perhaps”. This is NOT a legit cause to perform a raid against a company that not only hosts the servers for ThePirateBay, but also hosts domains for some non-relevant companies and/or private businesses. Fact still remains that the police also took these servers as well – for no apparent reason.

Laws have been broken and stepped on. Let’s just wait and see the reaction when this epiphany is brought out in the light. The government we know today will probably not be the same ever again.

No. This is not the government’s fault. It is solely the people of Sweden’s fault, that they have allowed their government to slide away from working for the people, and towards working for the corporations. In essence; It is the negative side of capitalism we are experiencing. Not democracy. True democracy would work to the will and best of the people more than the will and best of the corporations.
More than that, it is also the fault of American corporations infringing on consumer rights. One should be allowed to download copies of movies and software to which one owns a licence.

Who claims that there was copyrightprotected material on tpb? Speaking of copyright, what kind of models for copyright protection are realistic from now and in the future? Is upholding copyright protection realistic at all?
